Cross reactive to Noro virus VP1 form Group II, 3 (E.coli)
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as a preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Biological Significance
Norovirus is the name of a genus in the family Caliciviridae. This genus name is derived from Norwalk virus which causes approximately 90% of epidemic nonbacterial outbreaks of gastroenteritis around the world, and may be responsible for 50% of all foodborne outbreaks of gastroenteritis in the United States. Norovirus affects people of all ages. The viruses are transmitted by fecally contaminated food or water, by person-to-person contact, and via aerosolization of the virus and subsequent contamination of surfaces. Noroviruses contain a positive-sense RNA genome of approximately 7.5 kbp, encoding a major structural protein (VP1) of about 58~60 kDa and a minor capsid protein (VP2).
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4°C.

Product Notes

The Norovirus VP1 (Catalog #AAA832466) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Norovirus VP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). The sandwich ELISA method was performed by the avidin-biotin system. Matched pair antibody available - (MBS834518). The minimum detection limits on a sandwich ELISA using the capture antibody MBS832466 and the detector antibody (MBS834518) were approximately 1ng/mL of recombinant VP1 protein of type group II-3 and 3ng /ml of recombinant protein of group II-4. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Norovirus VP1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Norovirus VP1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
