Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-MYOD1 antibody
The epitope of anti-MyoD1 maps in between amino acid 3-56 in the N-terminus of mouse MyoD1 protein and does not crossreact with myogenin, Myf5, or Myf6. Antibody to MyoD1 labels the nuclei of myoblasts in developing muscle tissues. MyoD1 is not detected in normal adult tissue, but is highly expressed in the tumor cell nuclei of rhabdomyosarcomas. Occassionally nuclear expression of MyoD1 is seen in ectomesenchymoma and a subset of Wilm's tumors. Weak cytoplasmic staining is observed in several non-muscle tissues, including glandular epithelium and also in rhabdomyosarcomas, neuroblastomas, Ewing's sarcomas and alveolar soft part sarcomas.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein that belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors and the myogenic factors subfamily. It regulates muscle cell differentiation by inducing cell cycle arrest, a prerequisite for myogenic initiation. The protein is also involved in muscle regeneration. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize commitment to myogenesis. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

MyoD: a transcription factor of the basic helix-loop-helix family and the myogenic factors subfamily. Involved in muscle differentiation. Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. It is involved in muscle cell differentiation, and is essential for repair of damaged tissue. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize commitment to myogenesis.

Product Notes

The MYOD1 myod1 (Catalog #AAA603766) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MyoD (MYOD1, Myogenic Differentiation 1, bHLHc1, MYF3, Myf-3, Myoblast determination protein 1, MYOD, Myogenic factor 3, PUM) (BSA & Azide Free) reacts with Chicken, Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MyoD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Electron Microscopy, ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate. Use Protein A. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MYOD1 myod1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MyoD, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
