NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation that constitutes the major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. Produced as a single chain precursor, myeloperoxidase is subsequently cleaved into a light and heavy chain. The mature myeloperoxidase is a tetramer composed of 2 light chains and 2 heavy chains. This enzyme produces hypohalous acids central to the microbicidal activity of neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
Uniprot Description
MPO: Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Each monomer consists of a light and a heavy chain. Belongs to the peroxidase family. XPO subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The MPO mpo (Catalog #AAA215187) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MYELOPEROXIDASE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunohistology Paraffin. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Immunohistology - Frozen: Minimum Dilution: 1/1000; Maximum Dilution: 1/5000 Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100; Application Note: Membrane permeabilisation is required for this application. MyBioSource recommends the use of Leucoperm for this purpose. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 1/500; Maximum Dilution: 1/1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MPO mpo for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MYELOPEROXIDASE, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
