CD205 is a 210kD C-type lectin transmembrane protein, known as DEC-205. It belongs to macrophage mannose receptor family and is found at high levels on dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells. CD205, serves as an endocytic receptor, functions in antigen uptake/processing and clearance of apoptotic cells.
