Related Product Information for anti-KRT14 antibody
Keratin 14 (KRT14) is a member of the type I keratin family of intermediate filament proteins. KRT14 gene provides instructions for making a protein called keratin 14. Keratins are a group of tough, fibrous proteins that form the structural framework of certain cells, particularly cells that make up the skin, hair, and nails. Keratin 14 is specifically produced in cells called keratinocytes in the outer layer of the skin.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the keratin family, the most diverse group of intermediate filaments. This gene product, a type I keratin, is usually found as a heterotetramer with two keratin 5 molecules, a type II keratin. Together they form the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in the genes for these keratins are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. At least one pseudogene has been identified at 17p12-p11. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

The nonhelical tail domain is involved in promoting KRT5-KRT14 filaments to self-organize into large bundles and enhances the mechanical properties involved in resilience of keratin intermediate filaments in vitro.

Product Notes

The KRT14 krt14 (Catalog #AAA200343) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KRT14 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KRT14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Recommended starting dilution is 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRT14 krt14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KRT14, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
