Related Product Information for anti-KLRG1 antibody
Killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 (KLRG1; formerly known as mouse MAFA or 2F1-Ag) is a homodimeric member of the lectin-like type 2 transmembrane receptor family that contain characteristic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) in their cytoplasmic domains. These ITIMs interact with the SH2 domains of protein phosphatases such as SHP-1. The 2F1 antibody stains 30-60% of NK1.1+CD3- splenocytes, and a small fraction of T cells in all mouse strains tested (C57BL/6, BALB/c, 129/J, C3H.SW, AKR/J, SJL). Cell surface expression of KLRG1 is up-regulated by expression of MHC class I molecules. The effect of MHC class I expression is indirect, and can be mediated by interactions with class I-specific Ly49 inhibitory receptors.

NCBI Description

Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor cells and virus-infected cells without previous activation. They can also regulate specific humoral and cell-mediated immunity. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the killer cell lectin-like receptor (KLR) family, which is a group of transmembrane proteins preferentially expressed in NK cells. Studies in mice suggested that the expression of this gene may be regulated by MHC class I molecules. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported, but their full-length natures have not yet been determined. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

KLRG1: Plays an inhibitory role on natural killer (NK) cells and T-cell functions upon binding to their non-MHC ligands. May mediate missing self recognition by binding to a highly conserved site on classical cadherins, enabling it to monitor expression of E-cadherin/CDH1, N-cadherin/CDH2 and R-cadherin/CDH4 on target cells. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13.31

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: receptor activity; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: regulation of immune response; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; cellular defense response; innate immune response; inflammatory response

Product Notes

The KLRG1 klrg1 (Catalog #AAA602734) is an Antibody produced from Hamster and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KLRG1 (Killer Cell Lectin-like Receptor G1, MAFA, 2F1-Ag) (PE) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KLRG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.2ug/10e6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KLRG1 klrg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KLRG1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
