Related Product Information for anti-Kcnj3 antibody
Potassium channels are present in most mammalian cells, where they participate in a wide range of physiologic responses. The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and inward-rectifier type potassium channel. The encoded protein, which has a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into a cell rather than out of a cell, is controlled by G-proteins and plays an important role in regulating heartbeat. It associates with three other G-protein-activated potassium channels to form a heteromultimeric pore-forming complex.

Uniprot Description

GIRK1: This potassium channel is controlled by G proteins. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterized by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. This receptor plays a crucial role in regulating the heartbeat. Belongs to the inward rectifier-type potassium channel (TC 1.A.2.1) family. KCNJ3 subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, potassium

Cellular Component: cell surface; integral to plasma membrane; T-tubule; external side of plasma membrane

Product Notes

The Kir3.1 kcnj3 (Catalog #AAA6007270) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Kir3.1, CT (GIRK1, KCNJ3, G-Protein Activated Inwardly Rectifying Potassium Channel) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Kir3.1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:1000~8000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Kir3.1 kcnj3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kir3.1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
