Biological Significance
Cytokeratins are proteins of keratin-containing intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 5 also known as KRT5 is a protein that in human is encoded by the KRT5 gene. Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 8 also known as cytokeratin-8 (CK-8) or keratin-8 (K8) is a keratin protein that in human is encoded by the KRT8 gene. It is often paired with keratin 18.

Store at 4 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
