Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence staining of Human IRF6 in Hela cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with mouse anti-Human IRF6 monoclonal antibody (1:60) at 4 degree C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated Goat Anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody(green). Positive staining was localized to cytoplasm and nucleus.)

Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of the human IRF6
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Preparation
This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of the human IRF6. The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Preservative-Free. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for anti-IRF6 antibody
IRF6 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 6) is a Protein Coding gene. IRF6, a member of the IRF family of transcription factors, is required for the differentiation of skin, breast epithelium, and oral epithelium. Family members share a highly-conserved N-terminal helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain and a less conserved C-terminal protein-binding domain. IRF6, the gene that causes van der Woude syndrome (VWS), is a candidate gene for nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCLP) because some studies have supported an association between NSCLP and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IRF6 in several populations. Interferon Regulatory Factor 6 (IRF6) gene variants are significant genetic contributors to orofacial clefts.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. Family members share a highly-conserved N-terminal helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain and a less conserved C-terminal protein-binding domain. The encoded protein may be a transcriptional activator. Mutations in this gene can cause van der Woude syndrome and popliteal pterygium syndrome. Mutations in this gene are also associated with non-syndromic orofacial cleft type 6. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

Probable DNA-binding transcriptional activator. Key determinant of the keratinocyte proliferation-differentiation switch involved in appropriate epidermal development (). Plays a role in regulating mammary epithelial cell proliferation (). May regulate WDR65 transcription ().

Product Notes

The IRF6 irf6 (Catalog #AAA8100219) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-IRF6 Antibody, Mouse Monoclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IRF6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). ICC/IF: 1:20-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IRF6 irf6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IRF6, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
