Supplied as lyophilized powder from PBS. Reconstitute with 0.2ml water.
Applicable Applications for anti-IFNG antibody
ELISA (EL/EIA), Neutralization
Application Notes
Suitable for use as a neutralizing and binding (ELISA) antibody. This antibody only works in a capture ELISA assay. It does not recognize plastic-bound IFN-gamma, but works very well in capture ELISA when used as the first, plastic bound antibody (and then developed with polyclonal antibody).
Immunogen
Recombinant human INF-gamma.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-IFNG antibody
Interferon gamma is the only known type II interferon. Under physiological conditions, interferon gamma is induced when T-lymphocytes, previously sensitized to an antigen, are exposed to the same antigen, hence its other name: immune interferon. Interferon gamma has demonstrated significant anti-proliferative effects in in vivo studies; however, its therapeutic effects have been limited. Endogenous IFN-g has been shown to be required for the protection of mice against mycobacteri and leishmaniasis. In the U.S., human IFN-g has been approved for reducing the frequency and severity of infections in patients with chronic granulomatous disease.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated with aplastic anemia.

Uniprot Description

IFNG: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons. Homodimer. Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. Belongs to the type II (or gamma) interferon family.

Product Notes

The IFNG ifng (Catalog #AAA633123) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Interferon gamma, neutralizing (IFNg) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interferon gamma, neutralizing can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Neutralization. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFNG ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon gamma, neutralizing, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
