Host
Mouse
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG3
Clone Number
10.1
Specificity
This item recognizes Indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3 - dioxygenase (IDO), an enzyme responsible for the catabolism of tryptophan to N-formylkynurenine and kynurenine. With the exception of tryptophan oxidase in hepatocytes, IDO is the only enzyme that degrades the amino acid tryptophan to kynurenine. Chlamydial pathogens require tryptophan for growth. IDO can lower available tryptophan in target cells leading to conversion of the pathogen to persistant forms, with significance in the progression to chronic infection with its associated pathological effects.
Form/Format
Purified
Purified IgG - liquid
Concentration
IgG concentration 1.0 mg/ml (varies by lot)
Sequence Length

Applicable Applications for anti-IDO1 antibody
Immunohistology Frozen, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Western Blot: This item recognizes a 45kDa band in IFN-gamma treated human cell lines. This antibody recognizes a slightly lower molecular weight band in Mouse IDO compared to its human counterpart.
Perservative Stabilisers
0.1% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
Peptide corresponding to amino acids 78-184 of human IDO fused to GST.
Buffer Solution
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) - a heme enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in tryptophan catabolism to N-formyl-kynurenine. This enzyme acts on multiple tryptophan substrates including D-tryptophan, L-tryptophan, 5-hydroxy-tryptophan, tryptamine, and serotonin. This enzyme is thought to play a role in a variety of pathophysiological processes such as antimicrobial and antitumor defense, neuropathology, immunoregulation, and antioxidant activity. Through its expression in dendritic cells, monocytes, and macrophages this enzyme modulates T-cell behavior by its peri-cellular catabolization of the essential amino acid tryptophan.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]

Product Notes

The IDO1 ido1 (Catalog #AAA213447) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's INDOLEAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item recognizes a 45kDa band in IFN-gamma treated human cell lines. This antibody recognizes a slightly lower molecular weight band in Mouse IDO compared to its human counterpart. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IDO1 ido1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INDOLEAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
