Related Product Information for anti-IL2RG antibody
The common gamma chain (gammac) (or CD132), also known as interleukin-2 receptor subunit gamma or IL2RG, is a member of the type I cytokine receptor family expressed on most lymphocyte (white blood cell) populations, and its gene is found on the X-chromosome of mammals. The common gamma chain (gammac) (or IL2RG), is a cytokine receptor subunit that is common to the receptor complexes for at least six different interleukin receptors: IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15, and the interleukin-21 receptor. It is a component of multiple cytokine receptors that are essential for lymphocyte development and function. X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (X-SCID) is a rare and potentially fatal disease caused by mutations of IL2RG, the gene encoding IL2RG. IL2RG was demonstrated to be a component of the IL-4 receptor based on chemical cross-linking data, the ability of IL2RG to augment IL-4 binding affinity. The observation that IL-2R gamma is a functional component of the IL-4 receptor, together with the finding that IL-2R gamma associates with the IL-7 receptor, begins to elucidate why a deficiency of this common gamma chain (gamma c) has a profound effect on lymphoid function and development, as seen in X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that is a common subunit of several interleukin receptor complexes. These receptors are comprised of alpha and beta subunits in addition to this gamma subunit. Signalling through this pathway in important in immune cell differentiation and function. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2015]

Uniprot Description

IL2RG: Common subunit for the receptors for a variety of interleukins. Defects in IL2RG are the cause of severe combined immunodeficiency X-linked T-cell-negative/B-cell-positive/NK-cell- negative (XSCID); also known as agammaglobulinemia Swiss type. A form of severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), a genetically and clinically heterogeneous group of rare congenital disorders characterized by impairment of both humoral and cell- mediated immunity, leukopenia, and low or absent antibody levels. Patients present in infancy recurrent, persistent infections by opportunistic organisms. The common characteristic of all types of SCID is absence of T-cell-mediated cellular immunity due to a defect in T-cell development. Defects in IL2RG are the cause of X-linked combined immunodeficiency (XCID). XCID is a less severe form of X-linked immunodeficiency with a less severe degree of deficiency in cellular and humoral immunity than that seen in XSCID. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cell surface; membrane; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; interleukin-7 binding; interleukin-2 binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of T cell differentiation in the thymus; positive regulation of lymphocyte differentiation; positive regulation of CD4-positive, CD25-positive, alpha-beta regulatory T cell differentiation; regulation of gene expression; positive regulation of B cell differentiation

Product Notes

The IL2RG il2rg (Catalog #AAA8110948) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Anti-IL2RG Antibody, Rabbit Monoclonal reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL2RG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), ELISA (EIA) (Det). ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 ELISA (Det): 1:1000-1:10,000 ELISA (Det): This antibody will detect Mouse CD132/IL2RG in ELISA pair set. In a sandwich ELISA, it can be used as detection antibody when paired with. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL2RG il2rg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL2RG, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
