Related Product Information for anti-IL-12 antibody
Interleukin 12 (IL-12), also known as natural killer cell stimulatory factor (NKSF) or cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor (CLMF), is a heterodimeric pleiotropic cytokine made up of a 40 kDa (p40) subunit and a 35 kDa (p35) subunit. The IL-12 p40 subunit is shared by IL-23, another heterodimeric cytokine that has biological activities similar to, as well as distinct from, IL-12. IL-12 is produced by macrophages and B cells and has been shown to have multiple effects on T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. While mouse IL-12 is active on both human and mouse cells, human IL-12 is not active on mouse cells.
Uniprot Description
Function: Cytokine that can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated Killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC
By similarity.
Subunit structure: Heterodimer with IL12B; disulfide-linked. The heterodimer is known as interleukin IL-12.
Subcellular location: Secreted.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily.
Product Notes
The IL-12 il12a (Catalog #
AAA690325) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Mouse IL-12 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. ELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100ul/well), a concentration of 3-4 ug/ml of this antibody will detect at least 0.1 ng/well of recombinant murine IL-12 when used with PeproTech's biotinylated antigen affinity purified anti-murine IL-12 as the detection antibody at a concentration of at least 0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-12 il12a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"IL-12, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
