Related Product Information for anti-IKBKE antibody
The transcription factor NFkappaB is retained in the cytoplasm in an inactive form by the inhibitory protein IkappaB. Activation of NFkappaB requires that IkappaB be phosphorylated on specific serine residues, which results in targeted degradation of IkappaB. IkappaB kinase alpha (IKKalpha), previously designated CHUK, interacts with IkappaB-alpha and specifically phosphorylates IkappaB-alpha on the sites that trigger its degradation, Serines 32 and 36. The functional IKK complex contains three subunits, IKKalpha, IKKbeta and IKKgamma (also designated NEMO), and each appear to make essential contributions to IkappaB phosphorylation. IKK-i is a serine/threonine kinase that shares homology with IKKalpha and IKKbeta . IKK-i is primarily expressed in immune cells and is induced by lipopolysaccharide and by proinflammatory cytokines including TNFalpha, IL-1 and IL-6. Overexpression of IKK-i has been shown to result in phosphorylation of IkappaBalpha on Ser 32 and Ser 36, and in NFkappaB activation, suggesting that IKK-i may act as an IkappaB kinase in the immune system.

NCBI Description

IKBKE is a noncanonical I-kappa-B (see MIM 164008) kinase (IKK) that is essential for regulating antiviral signaling pathways. IKBKE has also been identified as a breast cancer (MIM 114480) oncogene and is amplified and overexpressed in over 30% of breast carcinomas and breast cancer cell lines (Hutti et al., 2009 [PubMed 19481526]).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]

Uniprot Description

IKKE: a oncogenic kinase of the IKK family. Phosphorylates inhibitors of NF-kappa-B thus leading to the dissociation of the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex and ultimately the degradation of the inhibitor. Plays a pivotal role in coordinating the activation of IRF3 and NF-kappaB in the innate immune response. Its redistribution to PML nuclear bodies upon DNA damage is TOPORS-dependent. Is a breast cancer oncogene that exerts its oncogenic properties through cRel.

Product Notes

The IKBKE ikbke (Catalog #AAA9436448) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IKBKE Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IKBKE can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ICC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IKBKE ikbke for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IKBKE, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
