Related Product Information for anti-IFN-alpha antibody
Interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha), also known as leukocyte interferon, represents a group of related but distinct proteins that share over 95% amino acid sequence homology. They are members of the type I interferon family which share a common cell surface receptor composed of two subunits, a 100 kDa ligand-binding subunit (IFN-alpha R2) and a 125 kDa ligand binding and signal transduction subunit (IFN-alpha R1) that is involved both in ligand binding and signal transduction. IFN-alpha has both anti-viral and immunomodulatory activities on target cells.

Uniprot Description

Function: Produced by macrophages, IFN-alpha have antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase. Ref.15

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Polymorphism: Two forms exist; alpha-1a (shown here) and alpha-1b.

Miscellaneous: Interferons alpha-1 and alpha-13 have identical protein sequences.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the alpha/beta interferon family.

Product Notes

The IFN-alpha ifna1 (Catalog #AAA690324) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human IFN-alpha reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. ELISA: This antibody can be used at a concentration of 1-2 ug/ml, as a capture antibody in conjunction with a compatible secondary reagent to yield satisfactory results in a sandwich ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFN-alpha ifna1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFN-alpha, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
