Biological Significance
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta).
Cross-Reactivity
Recognized mainly the alpha-subunit of HCG.Cross reacts with whole molecule of HCG, hLh, hTSH, and hFSH. Does not cross-react with free bets-subunit of HCG.

Contains sodium azide (0.05 - 0.1 %) as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
