NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of a family of enzymes that function to add glutathione to target electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins, and products of oxidative stress. This action is an important step in detoxification of these compounds. This subfamily of enzymes has a particular role in protecting cells from reactive oxygen species and the products of peroxidation. Polymorphisms in this gene influence the ability of individuals to metabolize different drugs. This gene is located in a cluster of similar genes and pseudogenes on chromosome 6. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Product Notes
The GSTA1 (Catalog #
AAA6233140) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GSTA1 (Glutathione S-transferase A1, GST HA Subunit 1, GST Class-alpha Member 1, GST-epsilon, GSTA1-1, GTH1, MGC131939) (MaxLight 750) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GSTA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IHC-P: 3ug/ml Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSTA1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"GSTA1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
