Mouse anti-Human GSK-3 beta Monoclonal Antibody | anti-GSK3B antibody
Mouse Anti-Human GSK-3b-UNLB
Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) is a protein serine kinase that phosphorylates glycogen synthase and thereby inactivates it. Insulin stimulates the dephosphorylation of glycogen synthase at the sites phosphorylated by GSK-3 and subsequently inhibits GSK-3 acutely leading to the stimulation of glycogen synthesis. GSK-3 signaling is performed by two isoforms, GSK-3 alpha and GSK-3 beta. The two isoforms share 97% sequence similarity within their catalytic domains. GSK-3 has also been shown to play a role in protein synthesis, cell adhesion, cell proliferation, cell differentiation, microtubule dynamics and cell motility.
The horseradish peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is supplied as 1.0 mL of stock solution in 50% glycerol/50% PBS, pH 7.4. No preservative added. Store at 2-8 degree C or long-term at -20 degree C.
Protect conjugated forms from light. Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase, belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. Polymorphisms in this gene have been implicated in modifying risk of Parkinson disease, and studies in mice show that overexpression of this gene may be relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Uniprot Description
Function: Participates in the Wnt signaling pathway. Implicated in the hormonal control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase, MYB and the transcription factor JUN. Phosphorylates JUN at sites proximal to its DNA-binding domain, thereby reducing its affinity for DNA. Phosphorylates MUC1 in breast cancer cells, and decreases the interaction of MUC1 with CTNNB1/beta-catenin. Phosphorylates CTNNB1/beta-catenin. Phosphorylates SNAI1. Plays an important role in ERBB2-dependent stabilization of microtubules at the cell cortex. Prevents the phosphorylation of APC and CLASP2, allowing its association with the cell membrane. In turn, membrane-bound APC allows the localization of MACF1 to the cell membrane, which is required for microtubule capture and stabilization. Phosphorylates MACF1 and this phosphorylation inhibits the binding of MACF1 to microtubules which is critical for its role in bulge stem cell migration and skin wound repair. May be required for early embryo development and neuron differentiation

Catalytic activity: ATP + [tau protein] = ADP + [tau protein] phosphate.
Enzyme regulation: Activated by phosphorylation at Tyr-216. Inhibited when phosphorylated by AKT1. Ref.34
Subunit structure: Monomer
By similarity. Interacts with ARRB2 and DISC1
By similarity. Interacts with CABYR, MMP2, MUC1, NIN and PRUNE Interacts with AXIN1; the interaction mediates hyperphosphorylates of CTNNB1 leading to its ubiquitination and destruction. Interacts with and phosphorylates SNAI1. Interacts with DNM1L (via a C-terminal domain). Found in a complex composed of MACF1, APC, AXIN1, CTNNB1 and GSK3B

The GSK3B gsk3b (Catalog #AAA670123) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human GSK-3b-UNLB reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GSK-3 beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA; Western Blot. ELISA Suggested Dilution: 1-3ug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSK3B gsk3b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GSK-3 beta, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
