Biological Significance
GOLM1 is a type II Golgi transmembrane protein. It processes protein synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assists in the transport of protein cargo through the Golgi apparatus. The expression of this encoded protein has been observed to be upregulated in response to viral infection. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.
Cross-Reactivity
Human
Immunogen
GOLM1 antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human GOLM1 (NP_808800) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

The Golgi complex plays a key role in the sorting and modification of proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. The protein encoded by this gene is a type II Golgi transmembrane protein. It processes proteins synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assists in the transport of protein cargo through the Golgi apparatus. The expression of this gene has been observed to be upregulated in response to viral infection. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene. Uniprot Description

GOLM1: Unknown. Cellular response protein to viral infection. Belongs to the GOLM1/CASC4 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative initiation.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q21.33

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; extracellular space; integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Product Notes

The GOLM1 golm1 (Catalog #AAA533372) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's GOLM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:150 WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GOLM1 golm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GOLM1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
