Biological Significance
Gamme-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian central nervous system. It plays a role in regulating neuronal excitability throughout the nervous system. In humans, GABA is also directly responsible for the regulation of muscle tone. In vertebrates, GABA acts at inhibitory synapses in the brain by binding to specific transmembrane receptors in the plasma membrane of both pre- and postsynaptic neuronal processes.
Cross-Reactivity
Human, avian, pig
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Immunogen
GABA A Receptor alpha-1 antibody was raised in mouse using purified GABA/benzodiazepine receptor from bovine cortex as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C.

Product Notes

The GABA A Receptor alpha 1 gabra6a (Catalog #AAA532092) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GABA A Receptor alpha 1 antibody reacts with Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GABA A Receptor alpha 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 10-20 ug/ml WB: 20 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GABA A Receptor alpha 1 gabra6a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GABA A Receptor alpha 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
