NCBI Description

The enzyme encoded by this gene is a multifunctional protein. Its main function is to catalyze the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA, in the presence of NADPH, into long-chain saturated fatty acids. In some cancer cell lines, this protein has been found to be fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), in which the N-terminus of FAS is fused in-frame with the C-terminus of ER-alpha. Product Notes

The FASN fasn (Catalog #AAA9231162) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Fatty Acid Synthase Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Fatty Acid Synthase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:1000 ICC: 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FASN fasn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fatty Acid Synthase, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
