Mouse anti-Human, Mouse EIF4E Monoclonal Antibody | anti-EIF4E antibody
EIF4E (EIF4E, EIF4EL1, EIF4F, Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, eIF-4F 25kD subunit, mRNA cap-binding protein) (MaxLight 650)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot analysis in Hela cell line lysates (35ug/lane) using 030936. This demonstrates that 030936 detected the EIF4E protein (arrow).)
Testing Data
(All lanes: 030936 (1:2000) Lane 1: Hela whole cell lysate Lane 2: Jurkat whole cell lysate Lane 3: NIH/3T3 whole cell lysate Lysates/proteins at 20ug/lane. Secondary Goat Anti-mouse IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at 1:10,000. Predicted band size: 25kD. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Fluorescent image of Hela cell stained with 030936. Hela cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10mins), then incubated with 030936 (1:25, 1hr at 37ºC). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-mouse antibody (green) was used (1:400, 50mins at 37ºC).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor® 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml, 1hr at 37ºC). EIF4E immunoreactivity is localized to Cytoplasm significantly.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
EIF4E: a protein of the eukaryotic initiation factor 4E family. Recognizes and binds the 7-methylguanosine-containing mRNA cap during an early step in the initiation of protein synthesis and facilitates ribosome binding by inducing the unwinding of the mRNAs secondary structures. Phosphorylation increases the ability of the protein to bind to mRNA caps and to form the EIF4F complex.
Protein type: Translation initiation; Translation
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q23
Cellular Component: mRNA cap complex; stress granule; cytoplasm; eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4F complex; cytosol
Molecular Function: protein binding; eukaryotic initiation factor 4G binding; translation initiation factor activity; RNA cap binding
Biological Process: translation; viral reproduction; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of mitotic cell cycle; regulation of translation; poly(A) tail shortening; mRNA export from nucleus; cellular protein metabolic process; insulin receptor signaling pathway; translational initiation; gene expression; mRNA catabolic process, deadenylation-dependent decay; lung development; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes
The EIF4E eif4e (Catalog #AAA6220590) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EIF4E (EIF4E, EIF4EL1, EIF4F, Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, eIF-4F 25kD subunit, mRNA cap-binding protein) (MaxLight 650) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EIF4E can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EIF4E eif4e for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EIF4E, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
