Biological Significance
DPP9 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DPP9 gene. This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the S9B family in clan SC of the serine proteases. The protein has been shown to have post-proline dipeptidyl aminopeptidase activity, cleaving Xaa-Pro dipeptides from the N-termini of proteins. In general, dipeptidyl peptidases appear to be involved in the regulation of the activity of their substrates and have been linked to a variety of diseases including type 2 diabetes, obesity and cancer.
Cross-Reactivity
Human
Immunogen
DPP9 antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human DPP9 (NP_631898) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the S9B family in clan SC of the serine proteases. The protein has been shown to have post-proline dipeptidyl aminopeptidase activity, cleaving Xaa-Pro dipeptides from the N-termini of proteins. Although the activity of this protein is similar to that of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4), it does not appear to be membrane bound. In general, dipeptidyl peptidases appear to be involved in the regulation of the activity of their substrates and have been linked to a variety of diseases including type 2 diabetes, obesity and cancer. Several transcript variants of this gene have been described but not fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DPP9: Dipeptidyl peptidase that cleaves off N-terminal dipeptides from proteins having a Pro or Ala residue at position 2. Belongs to the peptidase S9B family. DPPIV subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.14.5; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19p13.3

Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; serine-type peptidase activity; aminopeptidase activity

Biological Process: proteolysis

Product Notes

The DPP9 dpp9 (Catalog #AAA830362) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's DPP9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). FC: 1:100 IF: 1:100 WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DPP9 dpp9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DPP9, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
