Related Product Information for anti-DSCAM antibody
Down syndrome cell adhesion molecule (Dscam) is a cell adhesion molecule that plays a role in neuronal self-avoidance. It promotes repulsion between specific neuronal processes of either the same cell or the same subtype of cells. Dscam mediates, within retinal amacrine and ganglion cell subtypes, both isoneuronal selfavoidance for creating an orderly dendritic arborization and heteroneuronal selfavoidance to maintain the mosaic spacing between amacrine and ganglion cell bodies. It is the receptor for netrin that is required for axon guidance independently of and in collaboration with the receptor DCC. In spinal cord development, it plays a role in guiding commissural axons during projection and pathfinding across the ventral midline to reach the floor plate upon ligand binding. Dscam enhances netrin-induced phosphorylation of PAK1 and FYN. It mediates intracellular signaling by stimulating the activation of MAPK8 and MAP kinase p38. Dscam interacts with DCC, Netrin-1, PAK1 and RAC1.

Product Notes

The DSCAM dscam (Catalog #AAA588022) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecule (DSCAM) Antibody (DS2-176) reacts with Chicken, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecule (DSCAM) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). If reconstituted in 100 muL: IHC: 1:250-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DSCAM dscam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecule (DSCAM), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
