Biological Significance
Delta Catenin is a member of a subfamily of proteins with ten Armadillo-repeats. Like beta-catenin and gamma-catenin, delta-catenins seem to interact with presenilins. Catenin-presenilin interaction has implications for cadherin function and regulation of cell-to-cell adhesion. While beta-catenin acts as a transcription reglatory protein in the Wnt/TCF pathway, delta-catenin has been implicated as a regulator of the NF-KB transcription factor.
Cross-Reactivity
Bovine, Rat, Mouse, Zebrafish
Immunogen
delta Catenin antibody was raised in mouse using synthetic peptide J6 (corresponding to aa 292-309) coupled to KLH as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

CTNND2: Functions as a transcriptional activator when bound to ZBTB33. May be involved in neuronal cell adhesion and tissue morphogenesis and integrity by regulating adhesion molecules. Binds to E-cadherin at a juxtamembrane site within the cytoplasmic domain. Interacts with PDZD2. Interacts with ZBTB33. Binds to PSEN1. Interacts with RGNEF. Interacts (via the extreme C-terminus) with FRMPD2 (via the PDZ 2 domain). Predominantly expressed in brain; accumulates in cortical neurons. Belongs to the beta-catenin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The delta Catenin ctnnd2 (Catalog #AAA831014) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's delta Catenin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the delta Catenin ctnnd2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "delta Catenin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
