Specificity
This antibody has shown to recognize most of the basic (type II) keratins. Each epithelium contains at least one basic keratin. In this way AE-3 is broadly reactive with almost all epithelial and there neoplasms. This antibody together with AE-1 has been used for studying the immuno-localization of epidermal keratins, tissue distribution and epithelia development. AE-1 and AE-3 have also been used extensively, individually or mixed, for distinguishing carcinoma from non-carcinoma. The antibody is cross-reactive with keratins of rabbit, mouse, rat, bovine and chicken. Within immunoblots AE-1 detects distinct MW's of 52 kD, 54 kD, 56 kD, 58 kD, 59 kD, 64 kD, and 65-67 kD with all Ip's lower then 6.0. These MW's are believed to correspond with respectively keratin 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 1 & 2.

Uniprot Description

KRT75: Plays a central role in hair and nail formation. Essential component of keratin intermediate filaments in the companion layer of the hair follicle. Defects in KRT75 may be a cause of loose anagen hair syndrome (LAHS). In LAHS, anagen hairs are easily pulled from the scalp. The hair is relatively sparse and does not grow long. Hair of fair color and hair shafts of reduced caliber, and an early age of onset are features. Usually the hairs are not fragile and there are no areas of breakage. Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

Product Notes

The Cytokeratin Type II krt75 (Catalog #AAA246262) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Monoclonal [clone AE3] (IgG1) to Human Cytokeratin Type II reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cytokeratin Type II can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin; IHC - Frozen), Western Blot (WB). IHC-Fr, IHC-P (1:100), WB (1:100) Usage: In unfixed frozen sections and formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissues. Also applicable in Western blotting. For use on formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissues a dilution of approximately 1:150 to 1:200 is appropriate if section are incubated for 3.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cytokeratin Type II krt75 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytokeratin Type II, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
