Supplied as a liquid.
Applicable Applications for anti-Krt8 antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunoblot and Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections; paraffin sections, Proteolytic treatment with pronase or trypsin required; Formalin fixation may cause antigen denaturation or masking. Therefore, protease digestion is necessary prior to antibody application).
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:5-1:10
Immunogen
Lung cancer cell preparation.
Positive Control
Skin, cervix.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NCBI Description

an intermediate filament protein; may play a role in prostrate cells [RGD]

Uniprot Description

K8: a type II cytoskeletal keratin. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Phosphorylation of keratins at specific sites affects their organization, assembly dynamics, and their interaction with signaling molecules. Phsophorylated by p38 kinase, regulating cellular keratin filament reorganization. Phosphorylation on serine residues is enhanced during EGF stimulation and mitosis. Mutation of this protein is a risk factor for cryptogenic liver failure.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex; intermediate filament cytoskeleton; costamere; nuclear matrix; keratin filament; cytoplasm; intermediate filament; intercellular junction; nucleus; Z disc; sarcolemma

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein complex binding; structural molecule activity

Biological Process: tumor necrosis factor-mediated signaling pathway; sarcomere organization; response to other organism; response to hydrostatic pressure

Product Notes

The Krt8 krt8 (Catalog #AAA604520) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cytokeratin 5,8 reacts with Canine, Hamster, Human, Mammal, Mouse, Porcine, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cytokeratin 5,8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:5-1:10. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Krt8 krt8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytokeratin 5,8, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
