Mouse anti-Human CHIT1 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CHIT1 antibody
CHIT1 (Chitinase 1, Chitotriosidase-1, Chitinase-1) (Biotin)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Chitotriosidase is secreted by activated human macrophages and is markedly elevated in plasma of Gaucher disease patients. The expression of chitotriosidase occurs only at a late stage of differentiation of monocytes to activated macrophages in culture. Human macrophages can synthesize a functional chitotriosidase, a highly conserved enzyme with a strongly regulated expression. This enzyme may play a role in the degradation of chitin-containing pathogens. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
Uniprot Description
CHIT1: Degrades chitin, chitotriose and chitobiose. May participate in the defense against nematodes and other pathogens. Isoform 3 has no enzymatic activity. Belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family. Chitinase class II subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The CHIT1 chit1 (Catalog #AAA6141182) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CHIT1 (Chitinase 1, Chitotriosidase-1, Chitinase-1) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CHIT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CHIT1 chit1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CHIT1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
