Related Product Information for anti-CDK1 antibody
CDC2/CDK1, a CDC2/CDK -type protein kinase, regulates cell cycle transitions G1 to S and G2 to M. CDC2/CDK1 is maintained in an inactive state by phosphorylation by kinases MYT1 and WEE1. The active kinase, called the M-phase promoting factor, consists of a heterodimer with cyclin B, and final activation at G2/M results from CDC25 phosphatase-mediated dephosphorylation of CDC2/CDK1.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. This protein is a catalytic subunit of the highly conserved protein kinase complex known as M-phase promoting factor (MPF), which is essential for G1/S and G2/M phase transitions of eukaryotic cell cycle. Mitotic cyclins stably associate with this protein and function as regulatory subunits. The kinase activity of this protein is controlled by cyclin accumulation and destruction through the cell cycle. The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of this protein also play important regulatory roles in cell cycle control. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]

Uniprot Description

CDK1: a protein kinase of the CDK family. Catalytic subunit of the conserved protein complex known as M-phase promoting factor (MPF), which is essential for G1/S and G2/M phase transitions. Mitotic cyclins stably associate with this protein and function as regulatory subunits. Its activity is controlled by cyclin availability and phosphorylation through the cell cycle. Activated in many cancers including colon, liver and breast. The T isoform, which lacks a regulatory region, is expressed in breast cancer. Inhibition in cancer cells may drive cells into apoptosis. May also drive cell migration. Inhibitors: BMS-265246, BMS-265246-01. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

The CDK1 cdk1 (Catalog #AAA246344) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Monoclonal [clone POH-1] (IgG2a) to Human CDK1 / CDC2 reacts with Bovine, Human, Primate and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CDK1 / CDC2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). ICC, IHC-P (10 ug/ml), IP, WB Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary anti.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDK1 cdk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDK1 / CDC2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
