CD80 (B7-1) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. It is constitutively expressed by dendritic cells, monocytes, and peritoneal macrophages. Expression of CD80 on B cells is upregulated after activation by various means including stimulation by LPS, IL- 4, and surface Ig receptor cross linking with peak expression occurring between 48 and 72 hours postactivation. ^1-4 The interaction of CD80/B7-1 with its ligands, CD28 and CD152/CTLA-4, provides a potent costimulatory signal for T cells activated through the CD3/T cell receptor complex.^5, 6 The monoclonal antibody 1G10 blocks binding of CTLA-4 to CD80, but it does not block stimulation of T cells by natural antigenpresenting cells. ^2, 7

Product Notes

The LOC554317 (Catalog #AAA673444) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rat Anti-Mouse CD80/B7-1-FITC reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD80/B7-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry; Immunoprecipitation. Research Application(s): In vivo and in vitro blocking of ligand binding Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <= 1 ug/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LOC554317 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD80/B7-1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
