Specificity
Recognizes the 110KD integral membrane glycoprotein CD68 (Macrosialin) predominantly expressed on the intracellular lysosomes of monocytes and macrophages and to a lesser extent by dendritic cells and peripheral blood granulocytes. Elevated expression of CD68 has been demonstrated on CD34+ cells in various human malignancies, including several Acute Myeloid Leukaemia studies.

Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Form/Format
Affinity Purified
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 1% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for anti-CD68CD68 antibody
Flow Cytometry
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.
Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher
Immunogen
Cell suspensions of human lymph node.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-CD68CD68 antibody
Macrosialin is the murine homologue of the human macrophage glycoprotein CD68, both are members of the lysosomal-associated membrane protein (lamp) family which are located predominantly within the cells and can be detected by flow cytometry using cell permeablisation. Does detect surface macrosialin at low levels in resident mouse peritoneal macrophages which can be enhanced with thioglycollate stimulation.

Product Notes

The CD68CD68 (Catalog #AAA600751) is an Antibody produced from Host: Mouse Source: Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti - CD68CD68 (MACROSIALIN, DKFZp686M18236, Macrophage antigen, SCARD1, Scavenger receptor class D member1) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD68CD68 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry. Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD68CD68 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD68CD68, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
