Related Product Information for anti-CD5 antibody
Mouse anti Rat CD5 antibody, clone OX-19 recognizes the rat CD5 cell surface antigen, a 69kD glycoprotein expressed by T cells, thymocytes and a subset of B cells. Mouse anti Rat CD5 antibody, clone OX-19 has been reported as being suitable for use on periodate-lysine paraformaldehyde (PLP) fixed paraffin embedded tissue (Whiteland et al. 1995). Mouse anti Rat CD5 antibody, clone OX-19 is routinely tested in flow cytometry on rat splenocytes.

NCBI Description

binds CD2 glycoprotein on thymocytes; may play a role in T lymphocyte signal transduction [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CD5: a surface glycoprotein expressed on T cells and B-1 B cells. Rapidly recruited to the immunological synapse, lowering the response of the T cell antigen receptor. CD5 interacts with CD72/LYB-2. Promotes B-cell survival through stimulation of autocrine IL-10 production. Contains 3 SRCR domains.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell surface

Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: glycoprotein binding; scavenger receptor activity

Biological Process: receptor-mediated endocytosis; T cell costimulation; regulation of signal transduction

Product Notes

The CD5 cd5 (Catalog #AAA213072) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin*. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: 1/100 Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: The use of PLP fixation is recommended for optimal results. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD5 cd5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD5, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
