Performance
Five x 105 cultured human Raji cells were washed and incubated 45 minutes on ice with 80 ul of anti-CD38/Biotin at 5 ug/ml. Cells were washed twice and incubated with 2 degree reagent Streptavidin/R-PE after which they were washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.94 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1/Biotin negative control (MBS666714) at a similar concentration. Binding was blocked when cells were pre incubated 10 minutes with 20 ul of 0.5 mg/ml anti-CD38 antibody (MBS666469).
Buffer
50 mM Sodium Phosphate pH 7.5, 100 mM Potassium Chloride, 150mM NaCl, 5% Glycerol, 0.2% BSA, 0.04% NaN3 (as a preservative).
Conjugation
FITC
Production
Protein A purified antibody from tissue culture supernatant was reacted with FITC. Unconjugated FITC was separated from antibody/FITC conjugate by desalting column. The antibody/FITC conjugate is at 0.25 mg/mL with a Fluorescein/IgG molar ratio of 7.1.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2 - 5°C.
Freeze/thawing not recommended.
Protect from light

Product should retain activity for at least 12 months after shipping date when stored as recommended.

Related Product Information for anti-CD38 antibody
Information: Human CD38 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with bifunctional ectoenzyme activity catalyzing both synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP ribose (1). CD38 is involved in lymphocyte activation and adhesion to endothelium and has recently been identified as a counter-receptor of CD31 (2). Antibody AT1 recognizes the CD38 molecule of 45 kd.

NCBI Description

CD38 is a novel multifunctional ectoenzyme widely expressed in cells and tissues especially in leukocytes. CD38 also functions in cell adhesion, signal transduction and calcium signaling. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CD38: Synthesizes cyclic ADP-ribose, a second messenger for glucose-induced insulin secretion. Also has cADPr hydrolase activity. Also moonlights as a receptor in cells of the immune system. Belongs to the ADP-ribosyl cyclase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CD38 cd38 (Catalog #AAA666491) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The anti-human CD38-FITC reacts with Human, Cynomolgus and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD38 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Working dilution : 1:50 (or use 1.6 uL of concentrated stock per 5 x 105-cell test). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD38 cd38 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD38, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
