Related Product Information for anti-CD326 antibody
Mouse anti Human CD326 antibody, clone VU-1D9 recognizes epithelial cell adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM), a 34kDa cell surface antigen otherwise known as CD326, MOC31 and Ber-EP4. CD326 is a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on the basolateral cell membrane of the majority of epithelial tissues, with the exception of adult squamous epithelium, hepatocytes and gastric epithelial cells. Ep-CAM expression has been reported to be a possible marker of early malignancy, with expression being increased in tumor cells.Ep-CAM is a Type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. NCBI Description

This gene encodes a carcinoma-associated antigen and is a member of a family that includes at least two type I membrane proteins. This antigen is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. The antigen is being used as a target for immunotherapy treatment of human carcinomas. Mutations in this gene result in congenital tufting enteropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

Uniprot Description

EPCAM: a single-pass type I membrane protein of the EPCAM family. May act as a physical homophilic interaction molecule between intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) and intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) at the mucosal epithelium for providing immunological barrier as a first line of defense against mucosal infection. Expressed in almost all epithelial cell membranes but not on mesodermal or neural cell membranes. Found on the surface of adenocarcinomas including pancreatic carcinoma. May be a marker of cancer stem cells.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p21

Cellular Component: tight junction; cell surface; basolateral plasma membrane; apical plasma membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; lateral plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein complex binding

Biological Process: ureteric bud development; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; stem cell differentiation

Disease: Diarrhea 5, With Tufting Enteropathy, Congenital; Colorectal Cancer, Hereditary Nonpolyposis, Type 8

Product Notes

The CD326 epcam (Catalog #AAA214281) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD326 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 38kDa in HT-29 cell lysates Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100 Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 1/200; Application Note: This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD326 epcam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD326, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
