Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
Application Notes
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 uL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 ul staining volume or per 100 ul of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C and protect from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.

Related Product Information for anti-CD31 antibody
Background/Introduction: CD31 is a 130-140 kD glycoprotein, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1) and EndoCAM. It is a member of the Ig superfamily, expressed on endothelial cells, platelets, granulocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and T and B cell subsets, and is critical for cell-cell interactions. The primary ligands for CD31 have been reported to be CD38 and the vitronectin receptor (alphav beta3 integrin, CD51/CD61). Other reported functions of CD31 are neutrophil emigration to sites of inflammation and angiogenesis.

Uniprot Description

PECAM-1: a cell adhesion molecule expressed on platelets and at endothelial cell intercellular junctions. Plays a role in modulation of integrin-mediated cell adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, cell migration, negative regulation of immune cell signaling, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis and thrombosis. Undergoes alternative splicing, generating multiple isoforms in vascular beds of various tissues.

Product Notes

The CD31 pecam1 (Catalog #AAA2559276) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Mouse CD31 Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD31 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD31 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD31, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
