Related Product Information for anti-CD28 antibody
Introduction: CD28 co-stimulation is necessary for CD4 positive T-cell proliferation & survival, interleukin-2 production, and T-helper type-2 development. Human post-thymic regulatory T cells require CD28 co-stimulation to expand and maintain potent suppressive function in vivo. Apoptosis plays a key role in the age-related decline of CD28 expression and in immunosenescence.

Uniprot Description

CD28: a type I plasma membrane protein Involved in T-cell activation, the induction of cell proliferation and cytokine production and promotion of T-cell survival. Binds to B7-1 and -2. Expressed in T cells and plasma cells, but not in less mature B cells. Six splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell surface

Cellular Component: membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; immunological synapse; lipid raft; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; protease binding; SH3/SH2 adaptor activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of isotype switching to IgG isotypes; positive regulation of mitosis; T cell activation; positive regulation of interleukin-2 biosynthetic process; negative thymic T cell selection; T cell receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase cascade; positive regulation of inflammatory response to antigenic stimulus; positive regulation of protein kinase B signaling cascade; T cell costimulation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; immune response; positive regulation of alpha-beta T cell proliferation; regulatory T cell differentiation

Product Notes

The CD28 cd28 (Catalog #AAA140138) is an Antibody produced from Hamster and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD28, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
