Related Product Information for anti-CD222 antibody
Mouse anti Human CD222 antibody, clone MEM-238 recognizes human CD222, a 250 kDa transmembrane protein originally identified as the IGF II receptor. CD222 is ubiquitously expressed and is involved with internalization of a variety of ligands. Mouse anti Human CD222 antibody, clone MEM-238 recognizes an epitope located in the region between extracellular domains 2 and 5 (aa 192-697) of CD222 (Roberts et al. 2010). CD222 is primarily expressed intracellularly with a small percentage of molecules being located at the cell surface (5 - 10%).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for both insulin-like growth factor 2 and mannose 6-phosphate, although the binding sites for either are located on different segments of the receptor. This receptor functions in the intracellular trafficking of lysosomal enzymes, the activation of transforming growth factor beta, and the degradation of insulin-like growth factor 2. While the related mouse gene shows exclusive expression from the maternal allele, imprinting of the human gene appears to be polymorphic, with only a minority of individuals showing expression from the maternal allele. Uniprot Description

IGF2R: a multifunctional type I transmembrane protein receptor that binds insulin-like growth factor 2 at the cell surface and mannose-6-phosphate-tagged proteins in the trans-Golgi network. Also known as the cation-independent mannose-6 phosphate (M6P) receptor. Clears IGF2 from the cell surface to attenuate signaling, and transports M6P-tagged lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. M6P-tagged lysosomal enzymes bind specifically to mannose-6- phosphate receptors in the Golgi apparatus and the resulting receptor-ligand complex is transported to an acidic prelyosomal compartment where the low pH mediates the dissociation of the complex. Acts as a positive regulator of T-cell coactivation, by binding DPP4. Belongs to the MRL1/IGF2R family.

Product Notes

The CD222 igf2r (Catalog #AAA212462) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI HUMAN CD222 reacts with Rhesus Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD222 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunofluorescence (IF). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/25; Maximum Dilution: 1/50; Application Note: Membrane permeabilisation is required for this application. MyBioSource recommends the use of Leucoperm for this purpose. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD222 igf2r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD222, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
