Related Product Information for anti-CD20 antibody
Description: CD20 (MS4A1, membrane-spanning 4-domains, subfamily A, member 1) is a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. Members of this nascent protein family are characterized by common structural features and similar intron/exon splice boundaries and display unique expression patterns among hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. The CD20 antigen is present on human pre B lymphocytes and on B lymphocytes at all stages of maturation, except on plasma cells. Low level expression of the CD20 antigen has been detected on normal T lymphocytes. The CD20 molecule is involved in regulation of B cell differentiation, presumably via its reported function as a Ca++ channel subunit. And it is known to accelerate the G0 to G1 progression induced by IGF-1.
Function: This protein may be involved in the regulation of B-cell activation and proliferation.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated. Might be functionally regulated by protein kinase(s).
Similarity: Belongs to the MS4A family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. Members of this nascent protein family are characterized by common structural features and similar intron/exon splice boundaries and display unique expression patterns among hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. This gene encodes a B-lymphocyte surface molecule which plays a role in the development and differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. This family member is localized to 11q12, among a cluster of family members. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

This protein may be involved in the regulation of B-cell activation and proliferation.CautionEpitope 1, mapped in PubMed:16785532, is predicted to be buried in the membrane. Its accessibility to the extracellular space, and thus to antibody recognition, is not explained.

Product Notes

The CD20 ms4a1 (Catalog #AAA9602487) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD20 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD20 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemisty (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1:10000 IHC: 1:200-1:1000 ICC: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD20 ms4a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD20, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
