Related Product Information for anti-CD178 antibody
Mouse anti Human CD178 antibody, clone 14C2 recognizes the human CD178, also known as Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 6, Fas ligand (FasL), Apoptosis antigen ligand or CD95 ligand. CD178 is a 281 amino acid, a ~40kDa single pass type-II transmembrane glycoprotein bearing a single intracellular FasL domain and member of the tumor necrosis factor family. CD178 is expressed by activated T lymphocytes and NK cells (Leite-de-Moraes and Dy 1997). The protein may exist as either a membrane bound or a cleaved soluble form (Garcia et al. 2013). CD178 plays an important role in T cell mediated cytotoxicity (Jodo et al. 2005). Binding of CD178 to Fas (CD95) results in the induction of apoptosis (Ju et al. 1995). Mouse anti human CD178 antibody, clone 14C2 reported to recognize a conformation dependent non-blocking epitope on CD178 (Daburon et al. 2013).

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. The primary function of the encoded transmembrane protein is the induction of apoptosis triggered by binding to FAS. The FAS/FASLG signaling pathway is essential for immune system regulation, including activation-induced cell death (AICD) of T cells and cytotoxic T lymphocyte induced cell death. It has also been implicated in the progression of several cancers. Defects in this gene may be related to some cases of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Uniprot Description

FasL: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF6/FAS, a receptor that transduces the apoptotic signal into cells. May be involved in cytotoxic T-cell mediated apoptosis and in T-cell development. TNFRSF6/FAS-mediated apoptosis may have a role in the induction of peripheral tolerance, in the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells, or both. Binding to the decoy receptor TNFRSF6B/DcR3 modulates its effects. Homotrimer (Probable). Interacts with ARHGAP9, BAIAP2L1, BTK, CACNB3, CACNB4, CRK, DLG2, DNMBP, DOCK4, EPS8L3, FGR, FYB, FYN, HCK, ITK, ITSN2, KALRN, LYN, MACC1, MIA, MPP4, MYO15A, NCF1, NCK1, NCK2, NCKIPSD, OSTF1, PIK3R1, PSTPIP1, RIMBP3C, SAMSN1, SH3GL3, SH3PXD2B, SH3PXD2A, SH3RF2, SKAP2, SNX33, SNX9, SORBS3, SPTA1, SRC, SRGAP1, SRGAP2, SRGAP3, TEC, TJP3 and YES1. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CD178 faslg (Catalog #AAA213807) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD178 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: Neat; Application Note: Results maybe enhanced using membrane permeabilisation. MyBioSource recommends the use of LeucopermTM prior to staining. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD178 faslg for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD178, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
