Related Product Information for anti-CD122 antibody
CD122 is a 70-75 kD IL-2 receptor beta chain also known as IL-2Rbeta, which is also shared by the IL-15 receptor. It is constitutively expressed by NK cells and at lower levels by T cells, B cells, monocytes, and macrophages. The IL-2Rbeta chain can combine with either the common gamma subunit (gammac, CD132) alone or with the gammac subunit and the IL-2Ralpha subunit (CD25) to generate intermediate or high affinity IL-2 receptor complexes, respectively. CD122 expression levels can be upregulated by activation. The 5H4 antibody does not block IL-2 binding to the IL-2 receptor. CD122 is expressed on murine, but not human, CD8+ Tregs involved in the maintenance of T cell homeostasis.

NCBI Description

The interleukin 2 receptor is composed of alpha and beta subunits. The beta subunit encoded by this gene is very homologous to the human beta subunit and also shows structural similarity to other cytokine receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

IL2RB: Receptor for interleukin-2. This beta subunit is involved in receptor mediated endocytosis and transduces the mitogenic signals of IL2. Non-covalent dimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. IL2R exists in 3 different forms: a high affinity dimer, an intermediate affinity monomer (beta subunit), and a low affinity monomer (alpha subunit). The high and intermediate affinity forms also associate with a gamma subunit. Interacts with SHB upon interleukin stimulation. Interacts with HTLV-1 accessory protein p12I. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 4 subfamily.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cell surface; external side of plasma membrane; integral to membrane; membrane

Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; interleukin-2 binding; interleukin-2 receptor activity

Biological Process: cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; natural killer cell activation; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The CD122 il2rb (Catalog #AAA2556845) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Mouse CD122 Monoclonal Antibody (PerCP/Cy5.5 Conjugated) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD122 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD122 il2rb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD122, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
