Related Product Information for anti-CD107b antibody
CD107b (lysosome-associated membrane protein-2, LAMP-2), together with CD107a / LAMP-1, is a major constituent of lysosomal membrane. The LAMP proteins are involved in lysosome biogenesis and are required for fusion of lysosomes with phagosomes, especially CD107b is important regulator in successful phagosomal maturation. CD107b deficiency causes an accumulation of autophagosomes in many tissues leading to cardiomyopathy and myopathy (Danons disease). Immature CD107b is an approximately 45 kDa protein, but after extensive glycosylation the mature glycoprotein has about 100-120 kDa.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of membrane glycoproteins. This glycoprotein provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands. It may play a role in tumor cell metastasis. It may also function in the protection, maintenance, and adhesion of the lysosome. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

LAMP2: Implicated in tumor cell metastasis. May function in protection of the lysosomal membrane from autodigestion, maintenance of the acidic environment of the lysosome, adhesion when expressed on the cell surface (plasma membrane), and inter- and intracellular signal transduction. Protects cells from the toxic effects of methylating mutagens. Defects in LAMP2 are the cause of Danon disease (DAND); also known as glycogen storage disease type 2B (GSD2B). DAND is a lysosomal glycogen storage disease characterized by the clinical triad of cardiomyopathy, vacuolar myopathy and mental retardation. It is often associated with an accumulation of glycogen in muscle and lysosomes. Belongs to the LAMP family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CD107b lamp2 (Catalog #AAA1800677) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu CD107b PE reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD107b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: QC tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD107b lamp2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD107b, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
