Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of Beta-tubulin-HRP labeled staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a beta tubulin protein. This protein forms a dimer with alpha tubulin and acts as a structural component of microtubules. Mutations in this gene cause cortical dysplasia, complex, with other brain malformations 6. Alternative splicing results in multiple splice variants. There are multiple pseudogenes for this gene on chromosomes 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 13. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]

Uniprot Description

TUBB: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Dimer of alpha and beta chains. May interact with RNABP10. Interacts with PIFO/C1orf88. Ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in spleen, thymus and immature brain. Belongs to the tubulin family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21.33

Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; extracellular region; microtubule; nuclear envelope lumen; nucleus; protein complex

Molecular Function: GTP binding; GTPase activating protein binding; GTPase activity; MHC class I protein binding; protein binding; protein complex binding; protein domain specific binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton; structural molecule activity; ubiquitin protein ligase binding

Product Notes

The TUBB tubb (Catalog #AAA8241461) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Beta-tubulin Antibody-HRP labled reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey, Dog, Chicken, Rabbit, Sheep, Insect, Yeast and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Beta-tubulin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: (1/20000 - 1/600000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/1000 - 1/2000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TUBB tubb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-tubulin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
