Related Product Information for anti-ATG16L1 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is part of a large protein complex that is necessary for autophagy, the major process by which intracellular components are targeted to lysosomes for degradation. Defects in this gene are a cause of susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease type 10 (IBD10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

ATG16: Plays an essential role in autophagy. Homooligomer. Interacts with ATG5. Part of either the minor and major complexes respectively composed of 4 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (400 kDa) or 8 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (800 kDa). Belongs to the WD repeat ATG16 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, peripheral; Adaptor/scaffold; Autophagy

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q37.1

Cellular Component: pre-autophagosomal structure membrane; autophagic vacuole; axoneme

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding

Biological Process: protein transport; protein homooligomerization; autophagic vacuole formation

Disease: Inflammatory Bowel Disease 10

Product Notes

The ATG16L1 atg16l1 (Catalog #AAA6199210) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATG16L1 (Autophagy-related protein 16-1, APG16-like 1, ATG16L1, APG16L) (MaxLight 490) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATG16L1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FLISA: 1:4000 IHC: 1:10-50 WB: 1:60 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATG16L1 atg16l1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATG16L1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
