NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and a ligand-activated transcription factor. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex, but upon binding of ligand is transported to the nucleus. This protein can regulate the expression of many xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. Also, the encoded protein can bind specifically to and inhibit the activity of hepatitis B virus. Uniprot Description
AIP: May play a positive role in AHR-mediated (aromatic hydrocarbon receptor) signaling, possibly by influencing its receptivity for ligand and/or its nuclear targeting. Defects in AIP are a cause of growth hormone-secreting pituitary adenoma (GHSPA); also known as familial isolated somatotropinomas (FIS) or isolated familial somatotropinoma (IFS) or familial somatotrophinoma or acromegaly due to pituitary adenoma. Defects in AIP are a cause of ACTH-secreting pituitary adenoma (ASPA); also known as pituitary Cushing disease. A pituary adenoma resulting in excessive production of adrenocorticotropic hormone. This leads to hypersecretion of cortisol by the adrenal glands and ACTH-dependent Cushing syndrome. Clinical manifestations of Cushing syndrome include facial and trunkal obesity, abdominal striae, muscular weakness, osteoporosis, arterial hypertension, diabetes. Defects in AIP are a cause of prolactin-secreting pituitary adenoma (PSPA); also known as prolactinoma. Prolactin-secreting pituitary adenoma is the most common type of hormonally active pituitary adenoma.

Product Notes
The AIP aip (Catalog #AAA604103) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ARA9 (XAP2, Ah Receptor Associated Protein, ARA9, AIP) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ARA9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000. Band is seen at 37kD, representing ARA9. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AIP aip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARA9, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
