NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the AID/APOBEC family of polynucleotide (deoxy)cytidine deaminases, which convert cytidine to uridine. Other AID/APOBEC family members are involved in mRNA editing, somatic hypermutation and recombination of immunoglobulin genes, and innate immunity to retroviral infection. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

Function: Putative C to U editing enzyme whose physiological substrate is not yet known

Cofactor: Zinc

Tissue specificity: Predominantly expressed in testis. Ref.4

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.

Product Notes

The APOBEC4 apobec4 (Catalog #AAA311602) is an Antibody produced from Host: Mouse Source: Ascites and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAb to Apolipoprotein B reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apolipoprotein B (Apo B), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
