Related Product Information for anti-APOC2 antibody
Apolipoprotein H (ApoH), also known as beta2-glycoprotein I (B2-GPI), is a plasma glycoprotein, primarily synthesized in the liver. It has an important function in blood coagulation and clearance of apoptotic bodies from the circulation. ApoH is also an important actor of host innate immune response through its capacity to bind with high affinity to a large panel of pathogens or their proteins.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a lipid-binding protein belonging to the apolipoprotein gene family. The protein is secreted in plasma where it is a component of very low density lipoprotein. This protein activates the enzyme lipoprotein lipase, which hydrolyzes triglycerides and thus provides free fatty acids for cells. Mutations in this gene cause hyperlipoproteinemia type IB, characterized by hypertriglyceridemia, xanthomas, and increased risk of pancreatitis and early atherosclerosis. This gene is present in a cluster with other related apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 19. Naturally occurring read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream apolipoprotein C-IV (APOC4) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

Component of chylomicrons, very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and high-density lipoproteins (HDL) in plasma. Plays an important role in lipoprotein metabolism as an activator of lipoprotein lipase. Both proapolipoprotein C-II and apolipoprotein C-II can activate lipoprotein lipase. In normolipidemic individuals, it is mainly distributed in the HDL, whereas in hypertriglyceridemic individuals, predominantly found in the VLDL and LDL.

Product Notes

The APOC2 apoc2 (Catalog #AAA2541823) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The APOC2 Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's APOC2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:5000 IHC: 1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOC2 apoc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "APOC2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
