NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

SERPINA3: Although its physiological function is unclear, it can inhibit neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymase, both of which can convert angiotensin-1 to the active angiotensin-2. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The SERPINA3 serpina3 (Catalog #AAA190006) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Alpha-1-antichymotrypsin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoassay. These antibodies may be used in immunoassays to detect and quantitate alpha-1-antichymotrypsin. Other applications are under investigation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERPINA3 serpina3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-1-antichymotrypsin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
