Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Stored at -20 degree C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

an acute phase reactant protein; may have a role in the acute inflammation response [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

ORM1: Functions as transport protein in the blood stream. Binds various ligands in the interior of its beta-barrel domain. Also binds synthetic drugs and influences their distribution and availability in the body. Appears to function in modulating the activity of the immune system during the acute-phase reaction. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Lipocalin family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q24

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; extracellular space

Molecular Function: drug binding

Biological Process: acute inflammatory response to antigenic stimulus; acute-phase response; chronic inflammatory response to antigenic stimulus; negative regulation of interleukin-6 production; negative regulation of tumor necrosis factor production; organ regeneration; positive regulation of interleukin-1 beta secretion; positive regulation of interleukin-1 secretion; regulation of immune system process; response to drug; response to lipopolysaccharide; response to organic cyclic compound; response to vitamin E; transport

Product Notes

The a1AGP orm1 (Catalog #AAA2085870) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Monoclonal Antibody to Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein (a1AGP) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein (a1AGP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western Blot: 0.5-5ug/ml Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 5-30ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 5-30ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 5-30ug/ml Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 0.05-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the a1AGP orm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein (a1AGP), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
