Rabbit anti-Human ALDH7A1 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-ALDH7A1 antibody
Recombinant Anti-ALDH7A1 Antibody (FITC), Rabbit Monoclonal
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow cytometric analysis of Human ALDH7A1 expression in HepG2 cells. The cells were treated according to manufacturer's manual (BD Pharmingen'), and then stained with FITC Rabbit anti-Human ALDH7A1. The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact cells.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of subfamily 7 in the aldehyde dehydrogenase gene family. These enzymes are thought to play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. This particular member has homology to a previously described protein from the green garden pea, the 26g pea turgor protein. It is also involved in lysine catabolism that is known to occur in the mitochondrial matrix. Recent reports show that this protein is found both in the cytosol and the mitochondria, and the two forms likely arise from the use of alternative translation initiation sites. An additional variant encoding a different isoform has also been found for this gene. Mutations in this gene are associated with pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy. Several related pseudogenes have also been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]
Uniprot Description
ALDH7A1: Multifunctional enzyme mediating important protective effects. Metabolizes betaine aldehyde to betaine, an important cellular osmolyte and methyl donor. Protects cells from oxidative stress by metabolizing a number of lipid peroxidation-derived aldehydes. Involved in lysine catabolism. Defects in ALDH7A1 are the cause of pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy (PDE). PDE is characterized by a combination of various seizure types. It usually occurs in the first hours of life and is unresponsive to standard anticonvulsants, responding only to immediate administration of pyridoxine hydrochloride. Belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The ALDH7A1 aldh7a1 (Catalog #AAA8105506) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Anti-ALDH7A1 Antibody (FITC), Rabbit Monoclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ALDH7A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS/FCM). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALDH7A1 aldh7a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALDH7A1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
