Related Product Information for anti-ADRBK1 antibody
G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs) are important modulators of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling. Receptor phosphorylation by specific GRKs plays a key role in triggering rapid desensitization. The GRK family consists of 7 isoforms that share a central catalytic domain with homology to other serine/threonine kinases. The catalytic domain is flanked by an amino-terminal RGS domain of 183-188 amino acids and a carboxyl-terminus of variable length. GRK2 is a member of the BetaARK subfamily, and was originally termed Beta-adrenergic receptor kinase 1 (BetaARK1).

NCBI Description

The product of this gene phosphorylates the beta-2-adrenergic receptor and appears to mediate agonist-specific desensitization observed at high agonist concentrations. This protein is an ubiquitous cytosolic enzyme that specifically phosphorylates the activated form of the beta-adrenergic and related G-protein-coupled receptors. Abnormal coupling of beta-adrenergic receptor to G protein is involved in the pathogenesis of the failing heart. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

GRK2: a ubiquitous protein kinase of the GRK family. Phosphorylates the beta-2-adrenergic receptor and related G-protein-coupled receptors. Appears to mediate agonist-specific desensitization observed at high agonist concentrations. Expression level is consistently elevated in chronic human heart failure. Mouse models of severe heart failure have been used to demonstrate that inhibition of BARK1 with a peptide inhibitor is sufficient to increase mean survival, reduce dialation and improve cardiac function.

Product Notes

The ADRBK1 adrbk1 (Catalog #AAA606474) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Adrenergic Receptor Kinase, beta 1 (bARK1, B1 AR, ARK1 beta, G Protein Coupled Receptor Kinase 2, GPCR K2, GRK2) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Adrenergic Receptor Kinase, beta 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ADRBK1 adrbk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Adrenergic Receptor Kinase, beta 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
